2022 UTME: No extension of registration deadline – JAMB

  The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), on Friday, said there may be no extension of registration deadline for candidates, for the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The Registrar of the board, Prof. Is’haq Oloyede, made this known while monitoring the registration exercise in some centres on Friday, in Lagos State. He noted that from observation, feelers reaching the board from states across Nigeria reveal that the exercise has been seamless, hence there may be no room for an extension.UTME t registration began on Saturday, Feb. 19 and will be concluded on March 26. “We’re not expecting any extension. I want to say that we are very happy with the way the exercise has been going, two weeks after it started,” Oloyede. He mentioned that there has been no complaint concerning the code 55019, where candidates should send their NIN numbers to.–

 The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) will meet today with heads of tertiary institutions, to decide the fate of over 1.4 million candidates who wrote the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Vice chancellors, provosts and rectors from public and private universities, polytechnics and colleges of education are also expected to attend the virtual admission policy meeting. Also expected are the Executive Secretaries of National Universities Commission (NUC), National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), National Examinations Council (NECO), Director General, National Youths Corps Members (NYSC), National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), heads of West African Examinations Council (WAEC), and other relevant agencies involved in admissions. 🔥 UTME 2021: JAMB set to hold rescheduled exam for 18,000 candidates

 The rescheduled candidates are to print fresh examination notification slips containing the venue and time of the examination. Some categories of candidates who registered to take part in the 2021 unified tertiary matriculation examination (UTME) but are yet to sit the examination for various ‘genuine’ reasons have been rescheduled to sit the examination on August 6. This is coming two days after the examination body announced the withdrawal of results of 14 candidates and withheld 90 others’ for allegedly being involved in various forms of examination malpractice. In a statement issued on Thursday by JAMB and signed by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, a total of 18,000 candidates will participate in the rescheduled examination. UTME 2021: JAMB decries malpractice, threatens to withdraw 40 candidates results

THE Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has said it would not hesitate to withdraw results of candidates involved in malpractice in the just concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, after thorough viewing of Close Circuit Television,CCTV cameras deployed for the examination. This was as it disclosed that it recorded 40 cases of malpractices as well as arresting some security agents for involvement in various forms of fraud during the exercise. The 40 cases of malpractices in this year’s examination, according to the board, were against the over 4,000 recorded in the previous year. Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Ish-aq Oloyede, made this known during an overnight visit by the Senate Committee on Basic and Secondary Education to the board’s headquarters in Abuja.
